Korean cinema is getting a boost late in the summer with "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" hitting more than 10 million tickets sold in the shortest time among all Korean films and "Kundo: Age of the Rampant," a Joseon-period Robin Hood story, nearing the 5-million-ticket mark making it the third best film of the year.
Earlier this year "Miss Granny" was the top film of the year with 8.6 million tickets sold along with "The Fatal Encounter" with nearly 4 million tickets sold. There was a lull in the industry until late July when "The Admiral" debuted. "Kundo: Age of the Rampant" will come to Hawaii on Aug. 29.
