Kona woman charged with multiple drug offenses
Hawaii County police charged a Kona woman with multiple drug offenses Friday after she was found in a stolen car with what appeared to be drugs and drug paraphernalia.
According to police, Kona patrol officers stopped the vehicle on Maiau Street on Sept. 24 after it was reported stolen. The car was operated by a juvenile. Also in the car were 35-year-old Sharon Pihi, a man, 20, and another woman, 36.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found 1.5 ounces of a crystaline substance, 24 various prescription pills, 6.7 grams of a dried green leafy substance and paraphernalia association with narcotics distribution and use. Officers also recovered $850 in currency.
The juvenile driver, the older man and the 36-year-old woman were released pending further investigaton.
On Friday, police charged Pihi with methamphetamine trafficking, promoting dangerous drugs, promoting harmful drugs, promoting detrimental drugs, and drug paraphernalia. Her aggregate bail for the drug-related charges was set at $302,000. Pihi was also charged for revocation of probation, with additional bail set at $25,000.
