Frederico Clausen’s 2-under 70 on the final day of the Chaminade Tri-Match helped lead the BYU-Hawaii men’s golf team to its second first-place finish of the season at Pearl Country Club on Wednesday.
Clausen finished the 36-hole competition at 3-under-par (141) and tied with Chaminade’s Jarin Harada for first place individually. BYU-Hawaii amassed a team score of 587, and topped the Silverswords (590) and Hawaii Pacific (595). Chaminade finished Tuesday’s opening round at Olomana Golf Club in third place, but shot a collective 295 to jump the Sharks.
Chaminade junior Justin Taparra finished third overall at 1-under-143 while Hawaii Pacific’s Kevin Goldstein and BYU-Hawaii’s Nicolas Hererra tied for fourth at 1 over.
