Filipino community to honor former justices
The Filipino Community Center is honoring former state Supreme Court justices Simeon Acoba Jr. and Mario Ramil on Oct. 25.
The center’s annual Bayanihan gala and fundraiser dinner at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel will also honor philanthropist Maria Etrata, president of Preferred Home and Community Based Services and a charitable foundation.
Bayanihan Chairwoman Rosemarie Mendoza said the honorees are examples of how Filipinos have contributed to the state and country.
The dinner raises funds for the center’s educational, cultural and social programs.
