The June 27th lava flow from Kilauea Volcano has stalled at just over a half-mile from Apaa Street, near the Pahoa Transfer Station, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense.

The flow has not moved forward since Friday morning and there was very little burning activity at the front. Smoke conditions were light to moderate on Saturday morning, with moderate rain in the area.

According to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, the amount of lava flowing through the tube system feeding the flow is at its lowest level yet.

Current flow activity does not pose an immediate threat to the nearby communities, Civil Defense reported.

The flow is not visible and cannot be accessed from any public areas. Access to the Kaohe Homesteads subdivision remains restricted to residents.

Meanwhile, Kilauea continued to erupt at its summit, where a lava lake was about 200 feet below the rim of the floor of Halemaumau Crater.
