Inmate arrested in escape
A 28-year-old Women’s Community Correctional Center inmate is back behind bars after being on the loose for three months.
Tiana Soto, who did not return from a work furlough Oct. 8, was found Thursday at a Makiki apartment and arrested on suspicion of second-degree escape.
Soto was serving time for promoting a dangerous drug and another related drug charge, car theft, criminal property damage and driving without a license. Her parole hearing was scheduled for Dec. 18 but was canceled after she failed to return.
She was taking part in a community-based re-entry program that allowed her to work at full-time job.
2 hurt at construction site
Two people were injured Friday at a construction site in Waikiki.
Emergency medical personnel reported that a 37-year-old man was in stable condition and a 53-year-old man was in serious condition after a wall apparently came down at a construction site at Kuhio Avenue and Kalaimoku Street at about 10 a.m.
Attack on officer alleged
A 44-year-old Aiea man is accused of attacking a police officer who was attempting to serve him with an outstanding warrant near Waimanalo Beach Park on Thursday.
The suspect was being arrested just after 5 p.m. when he attempted to flee and allegedly attacked a 46-year-old police officer.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
