Hawaii women tee off in Kapalua
The University of Hawaii women’s golf team is tied for 12th place after posting a collective 28-over-par 316 on Monday in the opening round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at the Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui.
Texas (288) leads the tourney, while Louisville and UC Davis (290) are tied for second ahead of Tuesday’s second round.
Isabella Leung and Raquel Ek lead the way for Hawaii in a tie for 42nd place after both shot 77 to start the tourney.
While UH Hilo didn’t field a full team, three Vulcans are participating in the 15-team Division I tournament. Erin Costes leads the Hilo contingent after carding a 10-over 82 (70th place) on the 6,022-yard course.
