Navy hospital ship damages memorial dock

The USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor was closed to visitors Wednesday morning after a tugboat collided with the memorial's dock. Crews used a floating crane, left, to remove the dock, center, along with its ramps and railings after the 7:45 a.m. accident. Seen in the background is the USS Missouri.

Visitors were taken from the shoreside USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center by Navy launch out to the memorial but were not allowed on the memorial itself due to the damage on Wednesday. Park guide Kary Goetz took in the view from the Navy launch.
