Illinois man arrested after woman found slain in Hilo
Police on Hawaii island arrested an Illinois man after a woman was found murdered Friday morning.
Police received a call about 1 a.m. reporting an unresponsive woman at a business off Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo. There were obvious signs of foul play, police said.
Video footage from the area led to the suspect, a 35-year-old Shiloh, Ill., man. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder at a hostel off Waianuenue Avenue.
Fingerprint analysis is being used to identify the victim.
