State deputy sheriffs caught a work furlough inmate this afternoon near the Honolulu Airport.

The Department of Public Safety said Dorian Guerpo, 38, was captured at 4 p.m. on Waiwai Loop.

Deputy sheriffs returned Guerpo to the Oahu Community Correctional Center at 7 p.m.

Guerpo failed to return from a furlough pass to OCCC Module 20 on Monday.

Guerpo, who was classified at the lowest custody level, was scheduled to return at 5 p.m. Monday.

He was serving time for first-degree robbery, and is expected to be charged with second-degree escape, Public Safety said.
