Mariota to sit out again Sunday
Quarterback Marcus Mariota will sit out Sunday’s game at Houston, the Tennessee Titans announced today.
"Marcus Mariota made a lot of progress this week, but we aren’t going to play him Sunday," Titans’ coach Ken Whisenhunt said on the team’s website.
Mariota suffered a knee injury two weeks ago the result of a controversial hit by Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon in a 38-10 loss to Miami. Vernon was fined $37,363 by the NFL.
Mariota sat out last week’s game at Atlanta, the first he’s missed in four years as a starter, three of them at the University of Oregon.
Zach Mettenberger will again start for the Titans.
