Man charged for allegedly putting police officer in stranglehold
A 41-year-old man was charged Wednesday in an alleged attack on a police officer early Tuesday morning in Kalihi.
Caleb Iuli, who has no local address, was charged with first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. His bail was set at $50,000.
Iuli was arrested at 12:19 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder after he allegedly assaulted an on-duty police officer and placed him in a stranglehold. Police subdued the man and arrested him at 12:35 p.m. upon arrival of other patrol units.
