A former treasurer of the Makakilo-Kapolei Youth Baseball League admitted in state court today that she stole $13,368 from the organization. 

Nina Moore, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of felony theft for stealing the baseball league money and two other theft charges for stealing money from clients of the accounting firm where she was employed. She also asked the court to defer her guilty pleas to give her the opportunity to keep the conviction off her record if she abides by conditions similar to probation. 

Circuit Judge Richard Perkins will decide whether to convict and sentence Moore or grant her request for a deferral in January. 

In exchange for her guilty pleas, the prosecution has agreed not to oppose Moore’s request for a deferral but is asking Perkins to sentence Moore to four years of probation and 200 hours of community service. Whatever Perkins decides he will not order Moore to pay restitution because she has already paid back all of the money she stole. 

Moore stole the money from the baseball league between October 2012 and May 2013, according to the criminal complaint filed against her.
