Visiting nurse revives Maui snorkeler
The quick action by a nurse on vacation saved a 72-year-old man who got into trouble while snorkeling Monday in Kaanapali.
Emergency crews pulled the unconscious man from Black Rock beach just after 2 p.m.
A female nurse gave the man two short rounds of chest compressions and the victim regained consciousness and began breathing again, a Maui fire official said.
The man was able to talk to firefighters when they arrived.
The man had been snorkeling with his daughter at Black Rock when he began feeling uneasy. They were headed back to shore when the daughter noticed he stopped moving, with his face still down in the water. After quickly pulling him to shore, the visiting nurse jumped in to help.

New way of doing CPR is just the chest compression. No need for mouth to mouth. Tempo the rate at the beat of the song, Staying Alive.
You can’t be held liable if your rescue attempt with the CPR fails. The victim in the eyes of the law determined him/her dead to begin with.
Needs follow up at the emergency room. Fibrillation, flutter, arrhythmia, conduction disturbance, cardiac arrest, and so on. Lucky got sick in the USA.
