Missing Laumaka work furlough inmate Albert Kalakau has turned himself in on Saturday, the Hawaii Department of Public Safety said.

Albert Kalakau failed to return from a furlough pass to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Feb. 29.
He voluntarily walked into the Oahu Community Correctional Center at 10 a.m.
Kalakau, 51, was serving time for Attempted Theft 2 and Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges, the department said.

Missed his 3 squares and rec time. Constantly looking over shoulders can be tiring as compared to the leisure accorded at the prison.
Does this moke know how to read and write? Decipher a map? Recognize the numbers on a clock or a bus schedule? Maybe he likes the inside of prison. Fed three meals daily, a blanket and a bed, shower facilities, a dumb monotonous job pressing out license plates that fits his level of intelligence, and all for free. Could be that he turned himself in because he realized there’s no free food outside and the homeless are worse than him.

Interestingly, Hawaii’s license plates are not made by prisoners.
