Hawaii Gov. David Ige congratulated Alexis Sayuri Okihara, second from left, shortly after she was named Hawaii’s 64th Cherry Blossom Queen on Saturday at the Sheraton Waikiki. Okihara’s coronation before a crowd of more than 800 people was the end of a busy season for Cherry Blossom Festival co-chairwomen Desiree Uyeda, third from left, and Kara Iwasaki. They had presided over more than two months of public events promoting traditional Japanese culture in Hawaii.
