Ewa Beach’s Kailin Curran and Waianae’s Louis Smolka will both fight in the UFC in July, the organization confirmed Thursday.
Curran, who picked up her first UFC win in December, will fight Felice Herrig at UFC Fight Night in Chicago on July 23.
Smolka will take on Ben Nguyen in a 125-pound fight at UFC Fight Night in Sioux Falls, S.D., on July 13.
Curran (4-2, 1-2 UFC) earned a submission win against Emily Kagan in December to stop a two-fight losing streak. The bout with Herrig (10-6, 1-1), who lost in her last fight to Paige VanZant by unanimous decision, will be contested at 115 pounds.
Smolka (10-1, 4-1), who has won three straight in the UFC, will fight for the first time since a submission victory over Paddy Holohan last October.
Nguyen (15-5, 2-0), who will fight in his hometown, recently broke into the flyweight rankings at No. 15 and has won both of his UFC appearances by first-round stoppage.
Smolka is ranked No. 12 at 125 pounds.
