Hilo police are looking for two men who robbed a 66-year-old Hilo man at gunpoint in Lokahi Park.
The robbery occurred 3 p.m. Monday, when the victim was approached by two masked suspects who brandished firearms, demanded money and forced him into the park’s restroom. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim before fleeing. The police classified the case as a kidnapping, first-degree robbery and second-degree theft.
Both suspects spoke with heavy accents and are about the same height, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches. One suspect weighs about 135 pounds and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes. The other weighs about 200 pounds and was wearing black pants and a black hoodie.

Robbery of tourists leads to boy’s arrest
A male juvenile was turned over to Family Court for allegedly robbing two Japanese tourists early Tuesday morning near Fort DeRussy in Waikiki.
The couple was robbed near the Army Museum at 1:45 a.m., police said. The suspect fled but was caught and arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
