Firefighters extinguish two-alarm Maili fire
Honolulu firefighters responded to a two-alarm building fire in Maili early this morning which will leave two people without a home.
The fire was reported at 87-839 Farrington Highway at 3:04 a.m.
Eight fire companies staffed with 24 personnel arrived at 3:12 a.m. to find the one-story house engulfed in flames, the Honolulu Fire Department said.
The fire was brought under control at 3:44 a.m. and the fire was fully extinguished at 5:45 a.m.
The two occupants of the home were reported to be off-island at the time and were not home at the time of the fire, officials said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause remains under investigation and a damage estimate is not yet available, but the home is considered to be a “total loss.”
