A T-shirt designed by University of Hawaii-Manoa student Brigette Agustin of Kohala, Hawaii island, is for sale at UH bookstores.
The officially licensed “HI Pride” T-shirt won the bookstores’ annual T-shirt contest, which invited UH students to submit designs that show what Hawaii pride means to them. Five semifinalist designs were put online, and the winner was selected through a public poll.
Agustin’s design incorporates the Hawaiian Islands to form the letters “HI” in “HI Pride.”
Agustin’s prize was her own HI Pride T-shirt, a $200 UH Bookstores gift card and a $100 prize pack of school supplies from UH bookstores. UH-Manoa student Celeste Guarin, the runner-up in the contest, also won prizes for her design.
HI Pride T-shirts are printed in UH campus colors and feature the words “University of Hawaii” to promote school spirit. Shirts are $14; students pay $7 for their first 2016 HI Pride T-shirt purchased with valid UH student ID.
The shirts are available at any of the nine UH bookstores or online at bookstore.hawaii.edu. All proceeds from UH Bookstore purchases support the university.
