Oahu natives Nelson Ahina and Honolua Blomfield each took home individual championships at the Duke’s Waikiki Kane/Wahine Longboard Pro on Wednesday.
Ahina took home the men’s championship by beating Honolulu’s Kai Sallas in the final, 8.0 to 6.65.
Blomfield won the women’s championship by edging fellow Oahu native Megan Godinez, 9.8 to 9.15.
With each winning a World Surf League (WSL) and Longboard Qualifying Series (LQS) event, both have now qualified for the WSL Jeep World Longboard Championship.
