A high surf warning for the north shores of Oahu and Maui remains in effect until at least 6 p.m. today, with wave faces forecast to reach at least 20 feet and possibly 25.
The National Weather Service warning also covers the north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai and Molokai.
A less-serious high surf advisory is also in effect for the west shores on Oahu and the north shore of Hawaii island. Waves are predicted to reach 10 to 15 feet on the west shore of Oahu and 15 to 20 feet on the north shore on the Big Island.
