Hawaiian Airlines remained the top-ranked carrier for on-time performance after 91.5 percent of its flights arrived on time during November, according to data released Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The U.S. average among the 12 reporting carriers was 86.5 percent.
Hawaiian has led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for each of the past 12 years. A flight is considered “on time” by the DOT if it arrives less than 15 minutes after the scheduled time.
The state’s largest carrier also ranked fourth in fewest cancellations for the month with 0.2 percent, representing 11 cancellations out of 6,704 flights.
In other categories, Hawaiian finished with the sixth-fewest consumer complaints with 0.59 per 100,000 passengers and had the seventh-least mishandled-baggage reports with 2.32 per 1,000 passengers.
