Davis, Lee to speak at Quarterback Club
Anthony “Bones” Davis, the recent UH Athletics Circle of Honor inductee, will be one of the guest speakers on Monday at the Honolulu Quarterback Club.
Davis will be joined by Sam Lee, a Hawaii Baptist athletic trainer and the President of the Hawaii Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Davis still holds Hawaii’s single-game scoring record — he scored 45 against Cal State Los Angeles in 1959. He was the program’s first African-American scholarship player, and the first NBA draftee, selected by the New York Knicks in the ninth round of the 1960 draft.
Lee is in his seventh season as a full-time trainer at HBA. He previously served two years at Waialua High School and 13 years at Castle High School. He is also in his third year serving as the President of the Hawaii Athletic Trainers’ Association.
The Honolulu Quarterback Club meets at the Maple Garden Restaurant. Parking is free. Lunch is at 11:30 am and the program begins at 12 noon. The luncheon cost is $16.00 per person for members and guests.
