Honolulu police are looking for three inmates who escaped from Waiawa Correctional Facility on Tuesday night.
Brian Aquino, Kekoa Aspera and Kamaka Villegas were reported missing from a headcount at about 9 p.m., according to the state Department of Public Safety. Correctional officers immediately called the state Sheriff Division and police.
It’s unclear at this time how they escaped the prison.
Aquino, 31, is described as 5-foot-9 and 280 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is serving a sentence for first-degree burglary. Aquino’s parole hearing was scheduled for October.
Aspera, 25, is described as 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is serving time for first-degree burglary and first-degree theft. Aspera’s parole hearing was scheduled for September.
Villegas, 34, is described as 5-foot-7 and 175 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and tattoos near his right eye and around his neck.
The Department of Public Safety said Villegas is serving a sentence for promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, drug paraphernalia offenses, ownership/possession of a prohibited firearm, auto theft, second-degree robbery, second-degree forgery and promoting prison contraband in the second degree.
His parole hearing was scheduled to be held in April 2019.
