Real a Gastropub, set to close in Ward Farmers Market next week, will reopen in early 2018 in Kakaako, with an in-house brewery.

Lisa Kim, business partner of Real owner Troy Terorotua, said today that the brewpub will be in Keauhou Lane, at the corner of Keawe and Pohukaina streets and a block from Salt at Kakaako.

The 3,000-square-foot space will carry the Real name, plus the as-yet-to-be-determined name of the brewery, Kim said. It will be open daily for lunch and dinner.

Keauhou Lane is a mixed residential complex that is the site of a soon-to-open Down to Earth natural foods store.

Kim said the lease with Oregon-based developer Gerding Edlen was signed Wednesday.

With Real, the Kakaako area will have four beer-centric businesses — three brewpubs and Village Bottle Shop and Tasting Room.

Kim said Real’s distinction will be that it will serve not only its own brew but will maintain its international selection of beers. “So our guests can get locally brewed beer or their other favorites on tap.”

Real’s Ward location closes on Sept. 30.
