Board of Water Supply crews were working Saturday afternoon to repair a broken 12-inch water main on Kalanianaole Highway between Nenue Street and West Hind Drive in Aina Haina.
Only two westbound lanes were open. Motorists were asked to avoid the area or drive with caution when passing through.
There were water wagons in the area for residents on Wailupe Circle, at 5233 Kalanianaole Highway, and on Punahele Place.
The break was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, officials said. About 33 customers were without water during the repair.
A break in a 24-inch transmission line in the eastbound direction of Kalanianaole Highway in January crippled weekend traffic in East Oahu and took days to repair.
