A 57-year-old male pedestrian died Friday after being struck by a truck while crossing a street in Wahiawa.
According to police, the man was crossing Kuahiwi Avenue outside of a crosswalk at 10:05 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle turning onto the road from California Avenue.
An Emergency Medical Services report stated that the man was on a bicycle and that he was struck by a truck.
The man was transported in critical condition to a local trauma center, where he later died.
Excessive speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the incident, according to police.
Man, 54, is hit and killed on H-1 freeway
A 54-year-old man died after he was apparently struck by vehicle on the H-1 freeway westbound before Exit 8A to Pearl City/Waipahu.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Three westbound lanes were closed for three hours while an investigation was conducted.
