The Hawaii Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is accepting applications for summer internships at media organizations.
Available will be 12 summer internships for college students — 11 full-time positions over 10 weeks at 40 hours per week ($4,040 pay) and one part-time position for eight weeks at 29 hours per week ($2,343 pay).
Applicants must be Hawaii residents enrolled in a college or university who attended a high school in Hawaii; any student enrolled in a college or university in Hawaii; students who completed their sophomore year of college by June 2017; or recent graduates (no earlier than May 2016).
Participating media organizations are the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Pacific Business News, Hawaii magazine, Hawaii Business, Honolulu magazine, Pacific Edge, Honolulu Civil Beat, Hawaii News Now, KHON Channel 2, KITV 4, Alexander & Baldwin (public relations) and Hawaii Public Radio.

The application deadline is March 1.
