A 31-year-old Pukalani man was in critical condition Saturday after rolling his vehicle in a crash in Kula, Maui police said.
The man was driving southbound on Kula Highway near Naalae Road at about 12:30 a.m. when he drifted off the road and onto a grassy shoulder, then swerved back onto the road before crashing on the opposite shoulder, police said.
The man’s vehicle slammed into a guardrail end and a rock embankment, then rolled onto the passenger side.
Police said the man was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.
2 rescued from sinking boat off Kaneohe Bay
Honolulu Ocean Safety and Marine Corps Base Hawaii personnel rescued two men who were aboard a 12-foot dinghy that sank in Kaneohe Bay on Sunday. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Both men were brought safely to shore, according to Ocean Safety spokeswoman Shayne Enright.
