KHON2 did not broadcast its Thursday newscasts at 5, 6 and 9 p.m.
Calls and emails to the station manager inquiring about airing of its local newscasts were not returned to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on Friday.
It is unknown whether a scheduled power outage may have played any role in the matter. The area, including the Hawaiki Tower where the newsroom is located, was scheduled for a power outage from 11 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday by Hawaiian Electric Co.
U.S. home construction up 9.7% in January
WASHINGTON >> Groundbreakings on new homes jumped 9.7 percent last month to the highest level since October 2016.
The Commerce Department said Friday that housing starts came in at an annual pace of 1.33 million in January, up from 1.21 million in December and 1.24 million in January 2017. Construction of single-family homes rose 3.7 percent. Construction of apartments and condominiums shot up 19.7 percent.
