Farrington is one of 10 schools that will participate in the Polynesian Football Classic in Las Vegas on Sept. 7 and 8.
The Governors will face Carson (Calif.) in one of four games on Sept. 8 at Liberty High School.
The night before, Liberty will host a game against IMG Academy (Fla.), which finished this past season ranked No. 2 in the country behind Mater Dei (Calif.).
The other games announced as part of the showcase are Chandler (Ariz.) vs. Faith Lutheran (Nev.) and Bingham (Utah) vs. Mountain Pointe (Ariz.). A fifth game will be announced at a later date.
Kahuku played in the inaugural Polynesian Football Classic in 2017, losing 17-0 to Bingham.
Farrington, which will play its first game on the mainland since 1979, finished 5-5 and advanced to the OIA quarterfinals last season. The Carson Colts finished 8-4 and made the semifinals of the Los Angeles City Section Open Division.
Carson visited Oahu last season and lost 33-10 to Kamehameha at Kunuiakea Stadium. Former Kahuku head coach Vavae Tata was an assistant on head coach Arnold Ale’s staff at Carson.
Farrington hasn’t played a mainland opponent since losing 27-0 to Morse (Calif.) at Aloha Stadium in August 1996. The Govs are 3-5 against mainland opponents since 1973.
