Police seize drugs, cash
from a Kapaa man, 40
A Kapaa man faces multiple charges following the seizure of more than 480 grams of drugs and nearly $38,000 in cash.
Ramah Wong, 40, who was wanted on two bench warrants for violating his
probation on Oahu, was arrested by
Kauai Police Department officers Feb. 5
in Lihue, police said.
During the arrest, Kauai vice officers
recovered $3,430 in cash, and a canine screening alerted police to the possibility of narcotics in two backpacks and a vehicle belonging to Wong.
Police executed a search warrant on
the backpacks and vehicle two days
later, leading to the recovery of some 471.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 9 grams of marijuana and an additional $34,351 in cash.
Wong now faces multiple charges, including first- and third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and third-degree
promotion of a detrimental drug, police said.
A court hearing has been scheduled
for April 3 on the revocation of Wong’s probation.
