A flash flood watch will be in effect for the entire state from this evening through Sunday afternoon.

Deep moisture combined with increased instability this weekend will increase the risk of flash flooding, according to officials at the National Weather Service.

In addition, a high surf advisory is in effect statewide until 6 p.m. today.

The National Weather Service reports surge along east shores is expected to rise 8 to 12 feet this morning, easing to 7 to 10 feet this afternoon.

Strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents could make swimming difficult and dangerous, weather officials said.
