The University of Hawaii’s Metin Aydin and Johan Sandell didn’t qualify for the finals of their respective events at the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday in Minneapolis.
Aydin, a junior from Cologne, Germany, broke his own school record when finishing 20th in the preliminaries of the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:43.16.
Sandell, a junior from Huddinge, Sweden, placed 24th in the 1-meter diving event with 316.10 points.
Aydin (100 breaststroke), Sandell (3-meter diving) and Olli Kokko (100 breaststroke) will each compete in one event today.
