Of all the government subsidies that our taxes support, none is more important than SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), which supports people who are in need.
If SNAP enforces strict work requirements, it would be a disaster for families throughout the United States. We should not be creating more restrictive work requirements.
SNAP helps disabled and ill folks who cannot work. It also helps caregivers, and those running from abusive relationships.
SNAP is a vital food source program with bipartisan support. This beneficial program needs to be included in the proposed farm bill without a restrictive work requirement.
