Robert Null appears to misunderstand Brett Kavanaugh’s job interview (“Democrats behavior shameful, disgusting,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, Oct. 11).

Kavanaugh was not on trial, where he is “innocent until proven guilty.” It was an interview for the U.S. Supreme Court. It’s a big difference, yet the media keeps printing Republican talking points of “innocent until proven guilty.”

If Null interviewed a job candidate and received references that the candidate was accused of sexual assault, sexual misconduct and lying — and then he lividly and rabidly denied such accusations, saying it was a smear and a conspiracy by Democrats, with no concrete evidence to back up his attacks — would the candidate be hired?

I think not, as he would be a liability.

Do you want to save America? Stop supporting sexual predators and start giving the victims a complete investigation of the accused. I’ll vote for the party that pushed for a complete and thorough investigation and strongly support women victims of sexual attacks, thank you.
