We are very disappointed with the Honolulu Planning Commission for showing no interest in the mayor’s plea to reconsider his vacation rental bill (“Panel rejects mayor’s plea to reconsider rental bill,” Star-Advertiser, Oct. 18).
We live in Kailua on a quiet street, and we also have an ohana house on our lot where our children used to live until they grew up and moved away.
We have a separate driveway and parking off street.
We also belong to the Friendship Force cultural exchange club. We often have family members or people from other countries visit at our expense.
We are retired and on a fixed income. It would be helpful to have some additional income to make ends meet and enjoy the fruits of our labor. We think that we would qualify for TVU classification.
