With another abandoned vehicle in front of the house and being a major issue in the islands, I recommend that legislators look to some other places where it’s not a problem.
When I lived in California, an abandoned vehicle would be impounded, and the vehicle identification number was traced to the legal owner, who had a month to pay towing and storage expenses — usually around $1,500.
If you didn’t take care of the bill, it would go on your record and collection agencies would come after you. How about “no pay, no license renewal”?
For a vehicle owned and abandoned by a member of the military, the military would really frown on that if it was reported and a collection agency was after it.
Also, can nothing be done about an abandoned boat on the street? One on our street has been there more than eight months.
