Caravan migrants seek a better life
The caravan from Central America is similar to the Mayflower from Europe — brave, committed people escaping persecution, coming to a new home with the hope of a better life.
Gannenmono tells a similar story of the Japanese — my grandfather was one of those brave and committed adventurers seeking a better future in Hawaii.
This is the Yankee spirit, created from a gene pool of courageous, creative, risk-taking, committed people who should be welcomed.
We should wonder what the United States of America would be like today if the natives turned away the Pilgrims.
