Ahua Street needs help. It has been more than 25 years, yet the state and city have not solved the problem of flooding on Ahua Street.
Should this be a case study for government as we face the possibility of the sea level rising and flooding on Ala Moana Boulevard and Kalakaua Avenue?
At present, employees working on Ahua Street cannot walk to work without rubber boots or shorts. Imagine the hotel strikers walking in tidewater along Kalakaua with their signs.
If government can’t fix Ahua Street, will 50-plus years provide sufficient time to solve the problem of rising sea levels in low- lying areas?
