Hawaii County police said they are investigating the suspicious death of a Kailua-Kona 6-year-old boy Wednesday.
Family members brought the unconscious child to the Kailua Fire Station. He was taken by ambulance to the Kona Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 5:30 p.m.
Patrol officers responded to a 4:30 p.m. call and went to the station.
Police said the child was reportedly involved in an incident at an apartment complex at 74-900 block of Manawalea Street.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the death.
Police are seeking witnesses who were in the area who may have witnessed a commotion.
