The people walking from Central America are trying to come to the U.S. because conditions in their own country are intolerable. They are risking their lives, walking more than 1,000 miles under extreme circumstances, for a better life.

President Donald Trump insists that only people who are properly processed at the border would be allowed entry.

So instead of sending 15,000 troops to stop these people at the border, why doesn’t Trump send hundreds of State Department workers to process these people and allow them into the country legally?
