Finally, the residents of Ewa Beach have been able to elect one of our own to represent us in the Legislature (“Fevella’s win gives Republicans a caucus of 1,” Star-Advertiser, Nov. 8).
Whenever he is mentioned as our new senator, shortly following is the fact that he was a community activist and a custodian. Most of the residents of Ewa and Ewa Beach are blue-collar or “no-collar” workers. We aren’t doctors, lawyers or highly paid lobbyists. It’s time we had someone who knows what it’s like to have to work for a living. I know Kurt Fevella. While he doesn’t have a Ph.D. like his opponent, Matt LoPresti, he has an abundance of street smarts and knows what it takes to work hard for little pay.
I am proud of my new senator and look forward to the progress he will bring to our district.
