Some argue that if workers don’t want to be paid minimum wage, they should get educations and better jobs. If that happened, who would plant, pick, pack and sell your food? Who would prepare and serve your food, coffee and drinks? Who would clean every building and business you enter? Who would sell you clothes, goods and gas? Who would be caregivers for your children and parents?
We depend on minimum-wage workers all day, every day. We need to thank them. And to show our gratitude for all they do to make our lives better, we should support making the minimum wage high enough for them to live on.
