Holy cow. I opened the paper and was underwhelmed by the screaming front-page banner headline, “Crushing loss for Republicans” (Star-Advertiser, Nov. 11).
Hardly “breaking news.” I assumed the reference was to national politics, but I was wrong. The story was strictly local.
No doubt about it: Some things don’t change in our island home of 50 years. Sadly the Democrats control everything journalistic and political.
On the bright side, the Star-Advertiser does keep us informed, thanks to Lee Cataluna and David Shapiro. They are honest and perceptive columnists and my reason for subscribing, as the paper more than lives up to its name of “Advertiser.”
