May the Good Lord save state Sen. Stanley Chang from his naiveté over Singapore’s solution to solving its affordable housing crisis (“The Singapore solution,” Star-Advertiser, Nov. 17), and the Star-Advertiser’s undue enthusiasm in putting the senator’s naive suggestion on the front page, with a big picture. Whoa.
Chang may want to do some basic research. Singapore is one of the richest countries in the world. Our state is heading in the other direction — way down. Further, Singapore is one of the best run. Again, ours is way down.
Chang may want to familiarize himself with the fact that our Legislature is not on the right track. Might that include himself? Instead of coming up with dumb, high-flying suggestions, it might behoove him to get out of his posh office and listen to the people on the street.
Good luck.
