Alysha Marcucci scored 27 points, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range, as the Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team beat Hawaii Hilo 69-48 on Thursday at Moanalua High School.
Abbey Noblett added 11 points and Samantha Lambrigtsen and Lauryn Hippolite each added 10 for the Sharks (2-4, 0-1 PacWest).
Allie Navarette finished with 13 points for the Vulcans (2-1, 0-1).

Sharks men knock off Vulcans
Jonathan Janssen finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Ronald Blain added 15 points as the Hawaii Pacific men’s basketball team defeated Hawaii Hilo 74-60 on Thursday at Moanalua High School.
The Sharks (3-1, 1-0 PacWest) held a 46-25 rebounding advantage.
Larry Bush had 15 points for the Vulcans (2-2, 0-1).
Pair signs with Warriors volleyball
The Hawaii men’s volleyball team has signed two incoming freshmen for the 2020 season.
Committing to the Rainbow Warriors are 6-foot-3 hitter Chaz Galloway of San Diego and 6-7 opposite Dimitris Mouchlias of Greece. Galloway, a senior at Del Norte High, was with the U.S. men’s junior national A1 training team over the summer and helped his SCVA team to a gold medal at the High Performance Boys Youth National Championship.
Mouchlias has represented Greece at various international competitions and was named the most valuable player at the U-18 Greek Championship.
Hawaii opens the season Jan. 4-5 with exhibitions against British Columbia at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Warriors then host the Hawaiian Airlines Classic Jan. 10-12 with New Jersey Institute, Concordia-Irvine and USC.
