University of Hawaii football is getting more respect in the conference and top NCAA statistics while going to another Hawaii Bowl with a winning 8-5 season. Head coach Nick Rolovich makes $486,504 plus incentives, the least in the Mountain West Conference. There is little regard for his success and that of his staff. They may leave if not given a raise.
We paid more to worse coaches and lost June Jones to higher pay.
Now is the time to get the coach and staff higher pay, but most important, upgrade the facilities to improve recruiting. Why is the city’s rail transit project sucking funds from the state for major improvements and a new stadium?
Ask for the future needs of our only university football program, not poor management by the elites. Demand top quality even if we have an enriching lottery to pay for it.
