A reader complained that your newspaper is unfair to President Donald Trump and Republicans by constantly publishing negative stories and political cartoons about Trump (“Newspaper skewed against Republicans,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, Dec. 1).

Your coverage is clearly appropriate and will be so as long as Trump continually lies to the American public, refuses to reunite children of immigrants cruelly separated from their parents, cozies up to Russian President Vladimir Putin, attempts to profit from his office, does not replace those of his Cabinet appointees who are incompetent and/or corrupt and, in sum, so long as he continues to sully the office of the President of the United States and our international reputation.

The president needs to switch from Trump First to America First. They are not the same and often at odds.
